No.75 - Because this was number 75 out of 100 that I painted over a 10 day period I never had the time comment on each of these. This was the most popular out of the 100 that I painted, and I want to take a minute and explain it a bit.

Because I was doing so many I kind of just started randomly on this one. I had no reference, or idea what I was going to paint. It started just like the 74 before it, but as I painted it I began to see something in it from memory. I remember reading chapter in the Anne Rice's Vampire series where Lestat sees as a vampire for the first time. The way Anne Rice described it set an image in my mind that stuck with me all these years. I tried to capture what I thought it might look like on a rainy night in Italy. Not quite clear, but the ability to see life in the city with a different kind vision. Everything shining sparkling, and glowing. This was a completely different direction from the rest of the series up until this point, though some did have that glowing atmosphere feel to them. Perhaps that is what lead me to recall that memory.

I only had one hour to work on it to meet my deadline of 100 in 10 days. I wish I had more time, but it is what it is, and I like it as is. I hope you do as well?

I like this for several reasons. It reminds me of a painted city, and almost symmetrical but I see it is not entirely symmetrical . The contrast between light and dark is amazing! and the color very much catches me eyes <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/> I see a city late in the evening or early in the morning, right after it rains. As for originality, I haven't seen anything like this before! I would have to say it is very much original. I give you 5 on everything for good reason, I don't know how you did this but it has vision, technique, and impact for catching my attention. I hope you keep up the good work and do more high contrast work!
